Local Butte musician has great album with songs about Big Hole and Opportunity

Wisdom Road

Yesterday, I discovered that local Butte professor, fly fisher, conservationist, musician, and author Chad Okrusch has this great album while listening to Butte America Radio KBMF .  My favorite song was "Opportunity Blues" which talks about the town of Opportunity Montana and its plight as a "big ol' corporate toxic waste dump."  Another great song is "Big Hole River."  You can't go wrong with a song about one of the coolest rivers on the planet!

You can listen to the whole album here and buy the songs here.

Blank on Blank from PBS does Elliott Smith

The late, great Elliott Smith is one of the finest musicians of my generation.  I love the Blank on Blank series from PBS which animates old interviews with deceased famous people.

Do you somehow not know Elliott Smith? Check out some songs from his most known album from 2004 "From a Basement on the Hill"

"they spend their life like, going fishing..."

This is one of my favorite Dr. Dog songs.  Today is RBM's Birthday and I was looking for something a little sentimental to post.  I had never seen this live version and what he says at the beginning makes it great for the blog.

I do think some of us realize that it is not about the fish.
